Controller M&S Operations

Your Responsibilities:
As the Controller for the M&S Operations and S&P@D your main objective will be to control the financials within the Supply Market M&S in such a way that the financial risks are minimized. You are the back bone for the upstream/downstream and project organization in the area of reporting, accounting & control, tools and quality.

As both M&S Ops and S&P@D are new organizations you will also be challenged by being responsible for putting in place the appropriate business controls internally and externally (i.e. with suppliers).

Key areas of responsibility:
Responsible for and driving accounting & control of the Profit & Loss account of M&S Ops and S&P@D to safeguard EBIT target and Cost of Organization (monthly analysis of actual vs Annual Operating Plan);
Responsible for and driving continuous proper deployment of the PGP Internal Control Framework with respect to the Supply Market’s Value Add reporting especially related to Project Savings and Vendor Compliance;
Makes sure that Service Level Agreements are in place with respective counterparts in order to cover for PGP;
Responsible for M&S Ops ICS requirements;
Member of the PGP F&A team and participating in F&A oriented projects. Projects may be outside the M&S scope e.g. in a functional area like IT;
Accountable for updating the PGP reporting systems like PTA and CTA;
Takes the lead in setting up structural solutions in financial flows (e.g. VAT, fiscal etc.) for the newly created organizations.

Your Profile:
Most important criteria is that you have a Masters degree in a Business Economics or Finance orientated study with at least 5 years of experience as an (assistant) Controller. You have a strong business focus combined with great analytical skills. You value Integrity and Business Ethics.

A global focus and intercultural awareness are a great plus. Due to our fast changing environment it is important that you have a sincere proactive attitude and are eager to drive your own results. As an independent and fast learning talent you know that developing your leadership skills and broadening your network are key elements for development.

Besides these most important characteristics you have experience with Philips control procedures and the way of working, and preferably experience with project management and purchasing processes.

Organization Description:
Working in one of Philips Corporate Staff Departments, you’ll be at the heart of our worldwide company. These departments play a key role in supporting the Royal Philips Electronics Board of Management (BoM). So you may be involved in helping manage the processes and functions core to our operations: Performance Management, Finance,
Human Resources, Technology Management, Brand Management, or Information Technology.

Whatever your role, you’ll be helping implement BoM decisions, measure our performance, set company-wide standards and drive corporate initiatives. You may be involved in the creation of corporate products as diverse as our Annual Report, our brand image or a high-quality talent pool. But in every case, your activities will touch those of colleagues throughout Philips, as well as customers and stakeholders outside.

M&S Ops is part of the Marketing & Sales Team in PGP and strongly embedded into the Sector Marketing Communications Teams. The M&S Ops organization is a centre of competence established to be the single internal resource for the adaptation, production and distribution for all global and regional Marketing Communication materials. Strategy and creation of Marcom materials will remain with the Sectors Marcom Teams. The organization is managed by several local teams in key National Sales Organizations (NSO’s) and coordinated through a central group in Amsterdam. This new way of working will be rolled out globally over the next years.

Located in the Breitner office in Amsterdam, we are currently looking for a Controller M&S Ops & S&P@D (Sourcing & Production @ Design) to join and enforce our team.
