As a Scientist Clinical Decision Support within the Medical Signal Processing group, your key areas of responsibility will be:
• Conceive a decision support system for the management of chronic patients in their own home for use by nurses and physicians as well as patients;
• Design a computer interpretable framework for the representation of clinical guidelines. Implement this framework and decision support system together with other members of a project team;
• Analyze data from clinical trials and medical databases. Maintain and use databases from clinical trials;
• Pro-actively make knowledge available for operational use within Philips, e.g. by successfully transferring research results to the customer;
• Keep abreast of technical, application and market developments in the relevant technological and industrial areas, showing interest in the business aspects;
• Contribute to the definition of the group's research program and to a creative and inspiring working environment.

You have a PhD or MD in medical informatics or electrical engineering with expertise in artificial reasoning or knowledge representation as well as database implementation. You have strong programming skills and preferably knowledge of Windows Workflow Foundations and data mining techniques. Medical domain knowledge in the fields of cardiovascular, respiratory or sleep diseases is a definite plus.

Further, you have strong conceptual and analytical skills, good writing skills for reporting and external publication. You have good social and communication skills and you like to work co-operatively in multidisciplinary teams. You are also able to work on multiple projects at the same time by setting the right priorities and you are creative, have commitment and a flexible attitude.
